100% Pure Plum flower from Huang Shan, Anhui Province, China
Plum blossom is highly appreciated in both China and Japan for its poetic beauty and amazing fragrance filling the late winter air with the hope of spring. Plum blooms in February, when the ground might still be covered in snow, the crisp air enhancing its aroma.
The tea is as indulging as a dessert. It has a velvety, gentle texture and a sweet and creamy aroma, so full of pistachio notes that it compares with any pistachio cake. It is floral and nutty and very unique, amazing both on its own as a herb tea and as a little floral spice in a blend. We suggest blending it with subtle teas that exhibit less floral, and more verdant characteristics like Chinese green and white teas. Since the plum flowers are impressively aromatic, we need only a little to flavor our tea. Mixing 3 g tea with 0.5 g plum blossom is enough for a wonderfully fragrant and sweet plum flower blend. The aroma releases fast, short infusions are best for plum blossom. The tea goes many many steeps.
The flowers are picked before they are fully open, so they retain a concentrated, strong aroma. Tea made of plum blossom is not only delicious but also widely used in Chinese traditional medicine. It contains a high amount of antioxidants and is believed to relax the mind and help digestion issues.
For blending, you need to buy the tea separately.
