If you’ve ever been lucky enough to have food prepared with matcha in Kyoto, you’ll know the taste can’t be replicated with anything else. I was hesitant to get a 1 kg bag, but figured I would use it eventually. Unfortunately, it will probably go quicker than expected. So far I have only made panna cotta and madeleines with it, and the flavor and color took me instantly back to Kyoto. When I was a teenager, I went there and was baffled to see green tea ice cream. Trying it for the first time was out of this world, but I’ve rarely found anything that tastes as good expect for in extremely expensive tea houses in North America - and even then, there are not many that will use a product as nice as this. I had only made a few matcha recipes in previous years because i never found anything that tasted or looked as vibrant - but now I am glad to have a source for a taste of Kyoto in America.

I've made matcha yogurt, matcha latte and other matcha soft drinks using this matcha before, and it was always very good. This time, I decided to try making matcha chocolate. I'm not a pro by any means, but the chocolate turned out really good! Had a beautiful green color, and strong, flavorful matcha taste. I'll definitely use this matcha to make more chocolate in the future!
