Japanese organic oolong tea with a floral fragrance and smoked aroma
$12.96 / 70 g
Fermented tea with a fine fruity flavor from Fukuoka, Japan
Yame is mostly known for its Gyokuro, but the area is producing excellent black teas as well, cultivated from native Japanese tea cultivars. These cultivars are famous for being sweet without any lingering bitterness.
Yame Kōcha is exuberantly fruity and sweet, with the spicy edge of poppyseed and black sesame notes. A charismatic tea that is also exceptionally rich in antioxidants.

This is a bold black tea that comes with a strong taste. Liquor has a dark golden copper-like hue with an immediate sweetness and a touch of earthy bitterness. The aftertaste has a mild tartness and slightly floral. Wet leaves smell sweet of smoked sugar. This tea is strong enough to go with all sorts of sweet or savory accompaniment. I personally find the natural sweetness of this tea is more apparent when paired with a cheesy and salty rice cracker snack.

Excellent. As another reviewer noticed, there is a taste of potato, like raw potato slices. The aroma reminds me of a more delicate English breakfast tea, with sweetness in the finish. A little touch of chocolate or cinnamon. Soothing and enjoyable.

I do love the nutty taste that comes with it, usually i find black teas to be pretty strong but this one was quite light and was well enjoyed by family. It has a similar smell as yunnan gold but a very different taste. I find this tea to be a lot more relaxing compared to yunnan gold but it does last less infusions from my own tests. Still it was more than enough to serve 3 persons!

Highly recommend this tea. Tastes similar to Jin Jun Mei but with less depth in flavor and instead trades that off for a cleaner fruity profile.

A unique flavor for a black tea that you only get from Japan. Fruity. Almost undercurrents of potato. A must try.
