Japanese green tea with a refreshing mellow taste
This high-quality Yabukita tea is grown under direct sunshine on different tea fields in the sunny Kagoshima prefecture. The final processing is executed in Ujitawara, Kyoto prefecture.
Yabukita tea type was developed by Hikosaburo Sugiyama in Shizuoka.
It was registered as a cultivar in 1956, and it is named after the bamboo grove near the North side of the tea fields.
This is one of our most outstanding quality teas in the lineup of general-use green teas; we recommend it for daily consumption. It is an exceptionally likable variety for both beginner and veteran tea consumers. Yabukita's scent and flavor are essentially identical; its scent suggests exactly what the flavor delivers: the sensation of a fresh spring breeze, a silky zestiness, and light refreshment.
Cultivar: Yabukita

STEP 1) Warm your teapot. Pour boiling water into a teapot, let it sit for a little while, then pour it into cups, to let it cool down to 80℃.
STEP 2) Fill your pot with tea leaves in a 5g/200ml ratio.
STEP 3) Pour the water from the cups into the teapot, and brew for 40 seconds.
STEP 4) Pour the tea into the cups, and serve.
STEP 5) Brew again. The same tea leaves can be infused three times. Use hotter water for the second and third infusion, but steep for a shorter time.
❖ This is how we recommend brewing this tea, but we all have our preferences, so try experimenting to find the way you like it the best.

My commends and praises to this tea. Silk like texture and umami aftertaste are the highlight for me.

very good sencha, great for an everyday cup of tea, but lacks complexity in flavour. Would be good to pair with food where you would not want the tea to outshine whats being served.

Very bright vegetal taste and the first infusion is full of umami (tastes like Gyokuro, almost). I usually brew the first infusion with 80ºC and the next 3-4 infusions with 75ºC. First 2 infusions 40 seconds and then increase by +20 seconds starting from the 3rd.

The aroma of the dry leaf is intense, sweet, reminiscent of chocolate and orange peel. The flavor of the infusion is distinctly umami, slightly grassy, with a medium return of sweetness. Practically free of bitterness, slight pleasant astringency. Noticeable menthol effect. Aftertaste pleasant buttery-grassy, holds for a long time. Three nice infusions. I think the price/ performance ratio is excellent.
