Excellent matcha for everyday, suitable for making usucha (thin tea)
Eiraku is a light, refreshing, stimulating matcha tea with a complete, pleasant, slightly creamy finish. Its simple, pure flavor makes it a superb everyday tea. We recommend that you brew this tea with water of close to 85 degrees Celsius, as lower temperatures reveal bitter and tarter flavors. It is a milder and lighter tea compared to the Jurei, next up on our list.
The meaning of Eiraku "永楽" :
The compound「永楽」 (“eiraku”) means extremely longlasting pleasure.
「永」(“ei”) stands for something eternal or never-ending, while 「楽」(“raku”) refers to something that is peaceful and pleasant – something without suffering or hardship in both mind and body.
Please note, that Sazen Tea does not keep this product in stock. We get all matcha and tea powder fresh from the factories only after an order is placed for it on our website, and this process can take a few days. Thank you for your patience!

STEP 1) Put 2g (0.4 US tsp, 1 teaspoon or 2 chashaku scoop) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 70 ml (2.4 fl oz) 80℃ (176°F) water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Whisk with a chasen (tea whisk) until foamy.
❖ Before Step 1, warm up the tea bowl with hot water, then dry it with a cloth to create the perfect temperature so make the most delicious matcha with a fresh scent while preparing. (Optional)
❖ To prevent clotting of the matcha powder, sift it through a fine strainer before use. (Strongly recommended)
❖ After the matcha is done, drink it immediately, because as it cools down it gets more and more bitter. (Recommended)
❖ Freshness is the most important thing for the enjoyment of Matcha. It is best to use up the tea within one month of opening. (Strongly recommended)
EXTRA TIP
❖ Try iced matcha: pour the finished matcha over ice.

Update: It's fine as usucha, and it's quite creamy, not bitter, with a flavor that reminds me a bit of spinach. However it's not that good with lattes. The flavor is extremely mild after mixing it with milk. Adding more powder just has it taste like leafy vegetable juice mixed in with milk. But I can't fault the description since it's quite accurate. The color is also very vibrant.

maybe this matcha just isn't for me- i almost exclusively use oat milk (it was the first one i tried with this matcha) and couldn't get much of the matcha flavour i usually look for, still kind of tasting like vegetable juice to me. i also tried cashew milk and dairy, and didn't like that as much either. ive enjoyed it a lot more as usucha though or just iced with a bit of sweetener. ive also tried it with soda water and thought that was pretty nice as well.

Very creamy and not very bitter. Really liked it as usucha, but I recommend to add a bit more powder than normal if you want to use it for lattes since the flavor isn't too strong.

Very good for the price, I liked this more than some more expensive matches. The creaminess will come out if you find the right temperature. Foams nicely with no clumping!

The powder smells strongly vegetal but tastes more like dark chocolate when mixed with oatmilk and sweetener in a latte.
