A top-rated ceremonial Uji matcha with a rich flavor from Hekisuien
We recommend this tea to all visitors who are seeking a Matcha with a pleasant aroma on those regular weekdays, or for those who are just starting to get immersed in the ritualistically traditional world of Matcha. This is a powdered tea variety that is well suited to tolerate varied methods of preparation, saving one the worry over failing to achieve the desired end result. The flavor of the tea is also excellent at warmer and lower temperatures alike, or enjoyed with less or more quantities of water. Its scent is reminiscent of vanilla notes and a field of flowers, while its flavors include creamy sweetness, with fresh and tart notes.
The meaning of Daigyoku "大極" :
極める (Kiwameru) means to master, to carry to extremes, to bring to an end.
大(Dai) has multiple meanings related to being "big" or "great", so when coupled with "極" from "kiwameru" it conveys a sense of being, achieving, or mastering the highest or greatest state.
Please note, that Sazen Tea does not keep this product in stock. We get all matcha and tea powder fresh from the factories only after an order is placed for it on our website, and this process can take a few days. Thank you for your patience!

Should you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us
STEP 1) Put 2g (0.4 US tsp, 1 teaspoon or 2 chashaku scoop) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 70 ml (2.4 fl oz) 80℃ (176°F) water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Whisk with a chasen (tea whisk) until foamy.
❖ Before Step 1, Warm your tea bowl. (Optional) Pour hot water in it, then discard all the water and wipe the bowl dry with a cloth. During whisking a cold tea bowl might cool the water down too quickly, which could turn the matcha bitter.
❖ Sift your matcha powder. (Strongly recommended) Matcha clots easily in hot water. To prevent this, sift the powder through a fine strainer.
❖ When your matcha is ready, drink it immediately, because as it cools down it might turn bitter. (Recommended)
❖ Matcha is best fresh. Consume it within a month after opening. (Strongly recommended)
EXTRA TIP
❖ Try iced matcha: pour the finished matcha over ice.

This matcha was perfect for lattes! Very rich flavor and tastes like the matcha you can get from a matcha shop.

My new favorite matcha I've tried so far. Tasted geat and was bright green and fresh. The caffeine kick was a pleasant surprise. Ordered another 100g instantly. Now I'll be comparing everything else to this

Good as an entry to matcha. Very rich, to the point that it coats the back of my throat and leaves quite the bitter aftertaste. Not something I would order again.

Surprisingly decent for its price. It had a fantastic, citrus smell. Unfortunately, the smell wasn't reflective of what it actually tasted. It was a bit flat and boring at first, grassy, neither sweet nor bitter, no odd aftertastes. It worked really well once cooled down (almost regular temperature). It became creamier and a bit sweeter. It also doesn't work well with oat milk. The obvious taste of any nut milk would completely overpower the mild flavor of daigyoku. I tried cold whisking it with oat milk, but it didn't make much of a difference. Maybe try a completely neutral-flavored milk if you want to latte this.

Based in the US - this matcha is excellent for the price point. Great for everyday drinking, smooth and balanced. Grassy notes, but creamy finish as an uscha. Also great for lattes.

Nice entry matcha, not very overpowering, nice astringency and clean finish. I tried it as well in latte version an it blends well with the milk

Fantastic for it's price point with richness and complexity

Very smooth mild matcha flavor. Nutty in flavor with floral notes, no sweetness but also no bitterness. Does not froth up well though. Not good for lattes.

Very punchy flavor without being too astringent. Loved it as an everyday matcha.

Great packaging to preserve this gem! Unscrew the top and then has a pop top to open. Then you cut the foil sealed bag. WOW!!! An explosion of aroma that must be experienced!!! This is the real deal!!! I think my whole day has been transformed after a cup of this! Don't even ask yourself if you should get this... buy it now! You won't regret!!!

Palatable. Creamy with hint of sweetness. Not grassy in taste. A 'shot' of it soothes my nerves. As it is reasonably priced, find no reason not to order again.

Its superior. It scores 5 for creaminess and mouth full. It has a very sweet nose and fast to froth. Like the description, it has some mild tartness to the palate and a slightly floral after taste. This I tried with 70ml and 120 ml of water. If compared to the Deluxe Chiyo no Sakae Matcha, this beauty is more subtle and refine with cleaner edges. It will do better for me if it had more depth to it. Overall, it is an excellent choice for people to indulge in the world of Matcha.

Very delicate sweetness, the unique green matcha taste is beautifully balanced without any bitter notes. Cherish every nip and already all time favorite after my first taste.

Well, I really don´t have any other parameter to compare this matcha with another one because I´m a beginner and this is the first matcha I´ve bought, but is delicious and that green color is gorgeous. Thanks, now the evenings in the office are more pleasant :D !!!

not bad stuff but it's no Koyamaen silver organic, at about the same price per gram. worth the try but I would not buy again based on it's price and flavor profile in comparing it to Koyamaen.

This is my first matcha from sazen and compared to another brand that I used before (about same price and type of matcha), it doesn't increase the thermogenesis as much as the other brand, or at least that's how I felt. But it has a great flavor and I don't mind buying again.

A very solid everyday usucha. Pleasant vegetal sweetness with only a hint of bitterness. Color is also quite nice to behold in the chawan.
