t's a little difficult to manoeuvre through the various different kinds, but maybe it's worth to know, that the energy and care tea masters invest in tea more or less reflects in the price. Matchas on the cheaper side tend to be more astringent, while the higher grade a matcha is, the more aromatic and sweet it tends to be. For those who are still a little new to matcha universe, I usually recommend a middle grade matcha, because they are not bitter, they can be already velvety and sweet, even if they are not whisked perfectly, so experimenting with them is not discouraging.
So if you are relatively new to matcha, I would recommend you Matcha Daigyoku or Matsu no Midori or Matcha Isuzu. They are creamy and sweet, and easier to prepare, so you can enjoy them, even if you are not well-practiced. :)
For budget friendly everyday matcha, maybe you could try Matcha Aoarashi. Marukyu Koyamaen is always trying its best to make gentler, sweeter matchas, so even though it's not the highest grade tea, it's still pleasant. it's also very popular actually.
