Speciality

Origin: Meg Ding Mountain, Ya'an city, Sichuan Province, China
Picking date: Februay, 2024

Yellow tea processed under special conditions and matured in extra high humidity. It has a high content of polyphenols and amino acids, which support the proper functioning of the digestive system.

TASTING NOTES
A particularly mellow, velvety soft and silkily creamy tea with flavors reminiscent of sweet, pleasantly aromatic roasted chestnuts with a hint of toasted seeds in the background. The slightly smoky fragrances of tobacco leaves is clearly discernible in the infused leaves.
Ideally prepared starting with 95-degree Celsius water and short, 30-second infusions, gradually increasing the time of re-steeping. Longer infusion enhances the presence of more complex, aromatic notes that disrupt the otherwise harmonious balance of flavors.

How to prepare

3 g
0.1 oz
0.7 US tsp
95°C
203°F
150 ml
5.1 fl oz
150 cc
30 sec.~

STEP 1) Warm a gaiwan or teapot by pouring boiling water into it, then pouring it out.
STEP 2) Put tea leaves into the pot and pour water over the leaves.
STEP 3) Steam it for the required time.
STEP 4) Pour the tea into a pitcher, then into the cups to serve.

❖ When first pouring water over the leaves, foam is created. Remove the foam using the lid of the pot to achieve clearer taste.
❖ No need to "wash" the tea leaves, the first infusion is already ready to drink.
❖ For the second infusion, steep it for about half the time of the first infusion. For every other infusion after that increase the steeping time (from the time of the first infusion).
❖ Make sure to open the lid of the teapot between infusions, to prevent the leaves from steaming too much.

Taste of tea is a matter of preference, so try infusing tea in several ways and find your
favorite way to infuse.

Do******, 2019-12-12 21:38 JST,

I have been wanting to try this tea for a really long time now but was never sure if I wanted to "commit" to a whole bag, so I was super happy when I saw I can get a sample pack. And I'm so glad I tried! This tea is a real specialty! I totally agree with the description Sazen Tea gave about the taste, and I'd add that to me what made it really unique was the soft fragrance of pine resin, which was even detectable in the taste. Also, I was very pleased that the roasted flavors didn't make the taste heavy, as they sometimes do. I actually used about half the amount of tea leaves recommended because I prefer softer tastes, and even with that the flavors came out beautifully. I'm absolutely ready to make the commitment of buying a whole bag of it now:)
