This dark and rustic surface is achieved by a glaze that is Master Junzō's own innovation. This glaze is pervious, which means the teapot is still considered unglazed in its aroma-absorbing qualities. The glaze can vary from dark matte to dark golden brown.

Handling precautions
Initiation:
Before first use, rinse it with hot water, then let it dry completely!
Usage:
Avoid placing it on hot surfaces, like stove, and never use in microwave or oven.
Cleaning:
If you prefer to avoid tea stains, rinse the pitcher well after every use. It is better to avoid dishwashing liquid, but you can use gentle, organic soap to clean your pitcher. Never use bleach!
Storage:
After use, always let it dry completely, for if stored away while still wet, it might develop an unpleasant smell or mold.
This is the most elegant Yuzamashi I have found after a long research. And I am absolutely delighted with this beauty and delicacy. In my hand rest a vessel that is in harmony with the subtle delicacy of the subtle tastes of the best kabusecha I pour water on.

This is a good rustic pitcher. However, the item I received looked different with the picture, in both color and texture.
