Tamaryokucha, also known as Guricha (curly tea), derives its name from the curled shape of the tea leaves resulting from its unique processing method. This Tamaryokucha is steamed making it rich and flavorful.
This is a beautifully versatile tea, first it is brothy and full-bodied like a gyokuro, then fresh and verdant like a sencha. The first brew is elegant as we would expect from a competitive tea. It is sweet with cashew notes. The second brew however reveals a different side of it which is grassy and refreshing with its slightly bitter edge.
