This "furidashi" - candy container - is used in the Japanese tea ceremony. Traditionally it is for the tiny hard candies called "konpeito". The glass surface is decorated with waves and the silver flakes form a so-called "kaimon", a classic Japanese ornamental pattern imitating the surface of a shell.
The stopper is cork wrapped in corn leaf.
The furidashi comes in a paper gift box.
