Glass matcha tea bowl from Imaoka Miyako
A handmade and hand-painted tempered glass bowl decorated with "ukai", a traditional fishing method which uses trained cormorants to catch river fish. Ukai looks back on a 1300 years history and practiced mostly in the summer. Uji is famous for cormorant fishing, and the landscape depicted on the tea bowl captures the gentle mountains alongside the Uji River.
A special edition for Summer.
The "badarai" bowls are flat and wide and often used in summer because their shape helps matcha cool faster.
It is heat resistant, and suitable for both hot and cold tea.
We ship the bowl in a Japanese paper gift box.

Initiation:
Before first use, wash it well with gentle dish soap.
Cleaning:
Do not put it in a dishwasher or dish dryer. Wash by hand with a gentle detergent.
Storage:
Avoid open flame and hot surfaces. Do not put it in a microwave or oven.
Let it dry properly before storing away, otherwise, it may develop an unpleasant smell or mold.
