Ceramic teacup from Tokoname
Maekawa Junzō's artwork.
This dark and rustic surface is achieved by a glaze that is Master Junzō's own innovation. This glaze is pervious, which means the teapot is still considered unglazed in its aroma-absorbing qualities. The color can vary from dark matte to dark gold.
This smaller type cup is perfect for premium quality green teas and Chinese teas.
Recommended in a set with Junzō's Kurokinsai Gokuhira or Kurokinsai Hiramaru teapots and Kurokinsai yuzamashi.

Initiation:
Before first use, rinse it with hot water, then let it dry completely!
Usage:
Avoid placing it on hot surfaces, like stove, and never use in microwave or oven.
Cleaning:
It is better to avoid dishwashing liquid, but you can use gentle, organic soap to clean the cup. Never use bleach!
Avoid using dishwasher or dryer!
Storage:
After use, always let it dry completely, for if stored away while still wet, it might develop an unpleasant smell or mold.
Non-glazed ceramic cups absorb scents and flavors, so only drink one kind of tea from them (green tea, black tea, roasted tea, etc).
