Auto drip tea maker
To encourage beginners to drink more loose tea, the Uji Agricultural Center, working together with the Tea Industry Research Institute and local tea experts created this automatic tea dripper which brings conveniences to an entirely new level. All we need to do is fill the strainer with tea leaves and pour water into the container, and the dripper does the rest. Imitating the mechanism of traditional teapots, the water container is rotating automatically and pours the water slowly over the leaves. By the time all the water drips through the leaves, the tea is ready and the flavor is as umami-rich as made with traditional techniques.
The dripper is stylish and modern. Since it is easy to clean and does not require much attention, it is great for office tea sessions and those who have just started their tea journey. Its soothing dripping sound recalls the splashing sound of the so-called "suikinkutsu" or "water zither cave", an ornament popular in traditional Japanese gardens.
The dripper is especially recommended for the summer season for iced teas.
Advice on how to use the Oceanrich tea dripper:
✶ Use tea that requires lower-temperature water. As the water drips through the tea leaves relatively slowly (1-2 minutes depending on the amount of water you use), it is better to choose a tea that steeps well in lower-temperature water.
✶ The tea dripper is equipped with a fine mesh stainless steel strainer which makes it ideal for broken-leafed or deep-steamed teas with a lot of tea dust like Fukamushicha and teas with added powder like Matcha Iri Genmaicha or Matcha Iri Karigane.
✶ Just like tea prepared in a teapot, tea prepared in this tea dripper can be steeped several times. Just keep refilling the container. Between refills, you might want to stir the tea leaves a little so that they can release as much aroma as possible.
✶ To avoid accidents, we recommend you turn on the tea dripper first and pour water into it afterward.
✶ The tea dripper is great for iced teas. Put ice into your cup or pitcher and let the dripper fill it with your favorite iced tea.
✶ All the parts of the tea dripper are made of plastic which makes it a safe choice for outdoor tea sessions.
✶ You can use the dripper for both tea and coffee.
✶ Buy more than one tea dripper and make several teas simultaneously!

1. Put 4-5 g tea leaves into the stainless steel strainer. Put the strainer into its cartridge and place it into the main body.
2. Put the main body on the pedestal, and put on the water container. Remove the water container's lid.
3. Place the tea dripper on a larger cup or pitcher. The diameter should be 5-11 cm, depending on how much water you plan to use.
3. Switch on the tea dripper.
4. Pour water into the water container. The device is heat resistant, so you can use boiling water but since the water drips through the tea slowly, it is better to use lower temperature (70-75°C) water.
5. Turn off the dripper. It is better to turn it off right after the water went through it, but if you forget, the dripper automatically goes off after 5 minutes.
5. Repeat. Depending on your tea, make several infusions. Between infusions, stir the leaves to avoid clumping and allow the water to seep through them smoothly.
6. Be mindful of the tea strainer after use. It might be hot.
Cleaning:
Before first use, wash all the parts except for the green main body. The main body is an electric device. Never put it in water. Wipe it with a clean and soft cloth if needed.
Wash the washable parts by hand. Do not put them in the dishwasher or dryer because that might damage them.
After washing, let the parts dry completely.
After use, do not clean right away! The strainer might be hot and touching it might cause you burns! Wait until the strainer cools down and clean the strainer, the strainer's cartridge, and the water container if needed.
Batteries:
Push the main body backward and remove the pedestal. Open the battery cover and insert the batteries. You will need 2 x AAA alkaline batteries for the tea dripper to work. It is better to remove the batteries after use.
Usage
Do not place it on hot surfaces!
Do not expose it to direct sunlight.
Storage:
After use, make sure you store it away dry, otherwise, the tea dripper might get moldy.
Avoid keeping it in too hot or humid places.
Avoid putting it on unstable surfaces or places where the device could fall from.
Keep it away from humidifiers or an open flame.
Keep it out of reach of children or pets.
