Organic roasted brown rice for blending
Roasted brown rice for those who enjoy blending their own genmaicha. The rice is 100% organic, produced without using any artificial fertilizer or pesticide.
We recommend blending the organic genmai with sencha but it also works very well with kabusecha and gyokuro.
The usual blending ratio is 30-40% genmai and 60-70% green tea, but it depends on your taste. Feel free to experiment with ratio and make your own favorite genmaicha blend!
Please note, that the Genmai does not come with tea. For blending, the tea needs to be purchased separately.

1. Blend the genmai with the green tea of your choice. If you prefer a stronger green tea flavor, put less, but if you like a strong roasted rice flavor, put more.
2. Put 5g (1 tsp ) of Genmaicha into a Japanese teapot.
3. Cool boiled water down to 85℃ (185ºF) and pour it (250cc) into the teapot.
4. Steep for 30 seconds and pour an equal amount of tea into each cup.
This is how we recommend brewing this tea, but we all have our preferences, so try experimenting to find the way you like it the most.

Ta******, 2023-02-13 09:59 JST,
I was very happy to discover that Sazen started offering genmai by itself. This saves me time because I usually make it myself. Don't be shy to experiment! while it is very delicious when added to tea, it is a very versatile ingredient as it is just toasted rice. Try it on a salad, a small sprinkle over a roasted fish, or even an interesting ingredient to homemade chocolate :) as for my favourite pairing for tea, it may outshine the higher quality teas with its roasted flavour, so I personally prefer blending it with a tea that has lots of stems in it.
