The bowl is coated with ash glaze. The splitting of glaze colors is a renowned technique called "kakewake", widely used in Japanese pottery. The tiger is one of the twelve Chinese zodiac signs. The year of the tiger brings good opportunities for changes and growth. Tiger stands for courage, power and protection.
