Lacquered elm wood matcha tea bowl
This stylish, handmade tea bowl is carved out of Japanese elm wood and finished with a thin urethane layer to keep it sturdy. Its simple, natural look gives any matcha session a pure and classy atmosphere. The matte, dark finish accentuates the beautiful lush green of the tea.
Since it is very light, it is easy to use outdoors. It is also heat-resistant, perfect for everyday use for both cold and hot matcha.
As the name "Rakugata" indicates, the bowl recalls the shape of ceramic Raku tea bowls, including the "chadamari" - tea well - where the last of the matcha will pool.
The natural nervation of the wood is visible through the lacquer layer, and the original texture of the wood might also be perceptible through the finish.
The bowl comes in a paper gift box.
