Higly demanded usucha (thin tea), called ‘evergreen pine’
Matsu no Midori is a pleasant, superb usucha tea, one to perhaps adopt as your regular. It offers pleasant, well-balanced flavors. Compared to the matcha teas next on our list, it is a particularly full-bodied, slightly sweet tea enhanced with green notes and a hint of tartness. It should be brewed with water of at least 80 degrees Celsius.
The meaning of Matsu no Midori "松の翠" :
"Midori" (翠) is a color name likely originating from the color of the Kingfisher's feathers which are a blend of bluish and greenish hues.
松 (Matsu) means pine, and "Matsu no Midori" similarly refers to the bluish-green color of pine leaves.

STEP 1) Put 2g (0.4 US tsp, 1 teaspoon or 2 chashaku scoop) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 70 ml (2.4 fl oz) 80℃ (176°F) water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Whisk with a chasen (tea whisk) until foamy.
❖ Before Step 1, warm up the tea bowl with hot water, then dry it with a cloth to create the perfect temperature so make the most delicious matcha with a fresh scent while preparing. (Optional)
❖ To prevent clotting of the matcha powder, sift it through a fine strainer before use. (Strongly recommended)
❖ After the matcha is done, drink it immediately, because as it cools down it gets more and more bitter. (Recommended)
❖ Freshness is the most important thing for the enjoyment of Matcha. It is best to use up the tea within one month of opening. (Strongly recommended)
EXTRA TIP
❖ Try iced matcha: pour the finished matcha over ice.

I picked this as it I was recommended for Isuzu. I actually managed to try Isuzu first, and I ended up loving this much more. Sweet, creamy, and fantastic as a latte!

Lovely matcha that tends on the sweeter side, very very similar to Isuzu and just a tiny bit pricier but still very affordable. It tastes great in lattes but on its own as well. I'm getting this one in a larger can if my beloved Isuzu is still out of stock. The packaging ca be tricky since the matcha is inside an actual bag, inside the can... you have to be very careful when transferring from the bag to the can, at least this holds true for the 30 gram size, will update for larger size if is different.

This tea has some tart and creamy flavour. At certain temperatures it is a bit bitter. Surprisingly if mixed cold it looses those bitter aspects

An affordable and inoffensive matcha that can be bought in huge amounts to make the most of shipping. Very mellow and vegetal with no bitterness even at higher temperatures or concentrations. However, there's not much complexity. You can safely put 3.5g+ in a usucha. I'd recommend it for beginners, along with Shoukaku.
