Speciality

It is a gently pampering, light tea. The tender, fresh creaminess is prevailing both in the scent and the flavor. As an usucha, it offers a velvety and sweet sensation with a touch of hazelnut notes. The finish is edgy and tart, but never bitter.

Halal certification assures that this product is manufactured in full compliance with the precepts of Islamic Law, that it does not include any “forbidden” components, and has in no way been in contact with any substances or objects considered “impure”.

Please note, that Sazen Tea does not keep this product in stock. We get all matcha and tea powder fresh from the factories only after an order is placed for it on our website, and this process can take a few days. Thank you for your patience!

How to prepare

As Usucha:
STEP 1) Put 2g (0.4 US tsp, 1 teaspoon or 2 chashaku scoops) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 75 ml (2.4 fl oz) of 80℃ (176°F) water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Whisk with a chasen (tea whisk) until foamy.

As Koicha:
STEP 1) Put 4g (0.8 US tsp, 2 teaspoon or 4 chashaku scoops) matcha powder into a suitable tea bowl.
STEP 2) Pour 30 ml (1 fl oz) of 80℃ (176°F) water over the matcha powder.
STEP 3) Gently knead with a chasen (tea whisk) until all lumps are gone.

❖ Before Step 1, warm your tea bowl with hot water, then wipe it dry with a clean cloth. (Optional)
❖ To prevent clotting, sift the matcha powder through a fine strainer. (Strongly recommended)
❖ When your matcha is ready, drink it soon because as it cools, it might get bitter. (Recommended)
❖ Matcha is best fresh. Drink it up within one month after opening. (Strongly recommended)
